Portuguese Cork

Cork fabric is made from the shavings of the cork oak tree. To harvest the tree, the outer part of the bark is peeled to reveal the inner cork. This means that the tree continues to grow and can be harvested again. After drying the shavings, the cork is boiled, rolled, dyed, and a fabric backing is added.

The fabric is durable, strong, and soft.

If you need to clean your bag or wallet, you can spot clean with a damp cloth or gently immerse it in warm water, before leaving it to air dry. Portuguese cork can be treated like leather by using leather cream. This cream can be applied on some part of the cork bags, like corners (seams), folded areas, and areas that look dehydrated or dry.
